Certified MK Sound Speaker Showroom & Demonstration Centre
Experience the Choice of Professionals Across London & The Home Counties
Step inside an acoustic environment tuned to absolute precision. At Art of Cinema (powered by the technical engineering division of Arthur Acoustics), we are incredibly proud to host an official, fully certified MK Sound speaker showroom at our state-of-the-art Henlow facility.
For over four decades, M&K Sound has been revered globally as the undisputed gold standard for professional audio monitoring. Their loudspeaker arrays are the definitive choice for the world's most elite post-production facilities, recording studios, and Hollywood mixing suites—responsible for shaping the sound design of iconic masterpieces like Star Wars, The Matrix, and The Lord of the Rings.
Through our exclusive brand partnership and CEDIA-certified integration expertise, we bring this raw, uncompromised studio performance directly out of the commercial mixing suite and into your private residential residence. We serve discerning homeowners, interior architects, and premium property developers across London, Hertfordshire, and Buckinghamshire.
Why Experience MK Sound in a Calibrated Environment?
You cannot accurately evaluate the staggering dynamic range, lightning-fast transient response, or absolute tonal accuracy of an MK Sound monitor array through consumer retail reviews or a data specification sheet—it must be physically felt and heard in a scientifically engineered space.
Standard domestic retail rooms bounce sound waves erratically, destroying the pristine linear accuracy that makes M&K legendary. Our dedicated MK Sound demonstration theatre solves this by pairing reference-grade hardware with meticulous spatial architecture:
-
Discrete 7.2.4 Dolby Atmos Calibration: Experience the visceral impact of object-based spatial audio. Our flagship studio configuration features flush-mounted MK Sound architectural monitors tracking seamlessly in a fully discrete 7.2.4 surround setup.
-
The Power of the Push-Pull Subwoofer: M&K Sound invented the sub-woofer/satellite configuration. In our showroom, you can feel the chest-thumping, deep low-frequency extension of their specialized push-pull active subwoofers, delivering tight, perfectly timed bass with zero distortion or loose cabinet rattles.
-
Integrated Acoustic Fabric Walling: Our M&K monitors are mounted completely out of sight within structural wall cavities. Our signature site-built stretched fabric walling tracking panel systems (NRC 0.90+) completely conceal the hardware, proving that you can achieve professional studio dynamics with a zero visual footprint.
-
Anthem Power & Processing Matrix: To squeeze every ounce of performance from the loudspeaker arrays, our showroom pairs MK Sound with heavy-duty Anthem AVR amplification, meticulously tuned by our Institute of Acoustics (IOA) trained engineers to counteract room reflections.

M&K Speakers Reviews
"M&K have achieved the near Impossible of delivering subterranean depth with remarkable speed and agility"
Home Cinema Choice June 2022
It’s the best subwoofer I’ve encountered in two decades of reviewing
The M&K sub’s ability to dig deep and play loud proved mighty impressive – at one point I was afraid it was going to wake the dead in a nearby cemetery. So, the X15+ shines with movie soundtracks, but can a 15-inch sub work equally well with music? YES!
– Sound & Vision, David Vaughn 2022
Miller & Kreisel THX Certified
Each model of M&K speakers has achieved coveted THX status, with the X15+ being the company’s first 15-inch push-pull subwoofer to be THX® Certification Dominus class, whether used as a single subwoofer or as a pair.
The dual 10-inch driver X10+ with THX® Certified Select, the dual 12-inch driver X12+ with THX® Certified Ultra, and dual 15-inch driver X15+ with THX® Certified Dominus, ensure that movie and music lovers can achieve professional cinema audio reference levels in their home media or living rooms of up to 2,000ft3, 3,000ft3 and 6,500ft3, respectively. The THX gold seal of excellence verifies the consumer can expect enjoyment of movie soundtracks “as the director intended.
“We are pleased to announce THX Certification in three THX performance classes for the audio innovator, M&K Sound,” said Steven Martz, vice president of global technology, THX Ltd. “M&K audio engineers are among the world’s best, and passing THX rigorous standards for audio certification, means passing hundreds of tests. M&K can be proud of this accomplishment, and audio enthusiasts everywhere will be pleased with the extraordinary pure, powerful output of these superb subwoofers.”
MK Sound The Professional Choice for Movie Makers
The M&K Legacy
“This is the story of a speaker company that helped shape home theater and even music recording into what it is today.”
Home Theater Magazine (USA)
The journey began in 1973, when Steely Dan commissioned M&K Sound to design a studio reference subwoofer and monitoring system for the Pretzel Logic LP mixing sessions. The result was the world’s first balanced dual-drive subwoofer. Pretzel Logic became a million-selling Top Ten hit and one of Rolling Stone magazine’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
In the following years, as word of mouth spread rapidly throughout the music and movie industries, M&K Sound systems were created for leading studios, as well as home installations for producers, directors, actors and recording artists.
The M&K Sound has been chosen for:
• King Kong
• Star Wars, new trilogy
• Iron Man
• The Incredibles
• The Lord of The Rings Trilogy
• Finding Nemo
• Pirates of The Caribbean
• Chicago
• Black Hawk Down
• Pearl Harbor
• Cast Away
• Wall-E
And many other major releases
Why is M&K Sound regarded as the best in Home Cinema?
We’ve been using M&K Sound THX speaker systems on the Star Wars films in both the sound design and picture editing suites. The M&K Sound THX speakers’ accuracy and imaging qualities let us hear all the nuances of dialogue, music and sound effects at every stage of the creative process. This gives us the ability to create the powerful, yet subtle and persuasive soundtracks that are the hallmark of the Star Wars films.
